traction control light w/go on even on dry pavement, few months later the warning, service traction control would light up & shut down the ABS & traction control. Vehicle, 2002 Chev Impala, 40,000 miles.
Diagnosed as a bad wheel bearing costing me over $400 & shop was a reliable repair shop.
Some cars (don’t know about yours) have the ABS wheel speed sensor built into the sealed wheel bearing assembly. In such cases the whole wheel bearing assembly has to be changed out due to the bad wheel speed sensor. (The traction control uses the same wheel speed sensor as the ABS.)
Yep, built into the hub.
I had to replace one on my GM vehicle too.
