I’ve a 2002 Toyota Tacoma SR5 V6 with 101,000 miles on it, and I just noticed a squeaking coming from from the front (in the transmission area) everytime i upshift. It’s also squeaking, but neither as frequently nor as loudly, when i’m moving along at a steady pace. Can someone help me with this? I suspect a clutch slippage. Am I correct?
Nope. If the clutch were slipping the engine would be revving without pulling the truck along…especially in higher gears.
There are numerous rubber gaskets in the chassis, all of which dry out and shrink and any one of which could be the culprit. The ones that mount the sway bar to the frame are ususlally the first ones I check, mainly because the sway bar turns inside them.
cool, thank you
