I need to rebuild the starter on my 2015 Toyota Avalon. None of my snap ring tools are small enough to remove the external snap ring located under the rubber plug at the end of the starter. Can anyone recommend a snap ring tool they’ve used for this?

Yes, but I think the nibs need to be closer together. The spread looks to be about what it is on the tool I have, and that’s too far apart,
Sometimes you just have to use picks, the snap ring can’t be that strong if it is that little… Just did this on my daughters cloths dryer cause I forgot to bring my snap ring pliers… or worst case, I know it’s crazy, but they sell starters for your vehicle… lol
But kudos for trying to rebuild it…
