Toyota Camry Power Steering Pump 1997

I just had my toyota camry power steering hose replaced. I had power steering fluid on the garage floor which indicated a problem - the mechanic said it was the hose. Approx $500 later the hose was replaced and the leak supposedly fixed. Now I have another leak of power steering fluid and the mechanic said the pump is leaking. Have you heard of these two leaks happening back-to-back or is it probable that the hose replacment caused the pump to leak. By the way the car has approx 77K miles on it.

$500 for a hose? Either you are you are wrong about what work was done or you were ripped off. Hoses, pumps and racks can all leak from many places. I’d get a second opinion.
