i have a 99 toyota corolla, and sometimes when i put my key in the ignition it won’t start. it doesn’t lock up, but i have to turn my steering wheel all the way to the left, or all the way to the right and then try again. this works, but it’s so random and i’m wondering why? any info would be greatly appreciated.

How long has it been doing it? How often: every time every 100 times ??
What exactly happens when you turn the steering wheel?
if it doesnt turn before you do the steering wheel thing, then every car does that
