I have a 1993 pontiac trans sport van that does not want to shift into any gear. When i move the shifter on the steering wheel, nothing happens. There is also a bit of white smoke (not much at all) from the underneath of the left side (when facing engine)after the engine runs for a short time. I was given the two options above as possible issues. Any help/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Or it could just be a shift linkage or electrical problem. There are several reasons that it might not go into gear. Is the fluid level correct? When were the fluid and filter last changed?
