Tming belt

Do late model Toyota Camry V-6’s have timing belts,or chains?

Seems 2005 on don’t.

Here’s a good trustworthy guide:

Thanks

My 2007 Toyota maintenance manual reads: "All V6 and V8 powered vehicles (EXCEPT Avalon, Fj Cruiser, 4Runner, Tundra, Tacoma, RAV4, Camry) replace timing belt every 6 years or 90,000 miles. So it seems later model Camry V6s don’t have timing belts.

I don’t think the Gates Guide lists anything for Toyota later than 2004. My wife’s 2006 Sienna 3.3 V6 has a timing belt. Off the top my head, it has a 7yr/90k timing belt change interval.

According to this review, the 4 cyl has a timing chain and the 6 cyl has a timing belt. http://www.samarins.com/reviews/camry.html

I would guess that they do have one or the other.

I was comparing my Accord to the Camry maintenance schedules, and noted Honda’s timing belt change for my model was at 60k.
I thought it was a expensive deal every 60k as opposed to 100k-120k for other makes. Thats why i asked about Toyota even having a timing belt.

Toyota V6’s since 2004 don’t have Timing Belts…but the v8’s do have a timing belt.

Very good question; Toyota charges $500 to replace the V6 timing belts on the models that have them. I did not buy a Honda partly for that reason. Most Toyotas now have timing CHAINS that will likely last the life of the car.
