I have a 1987 Nissan Sentra. I have recently been experiencing starting problems. After going the whole gammit of obvious reasons; new:starter, fuel pump, battery, tune-up, etc., etc., I then put on a new timing belt, and all the other belts while I was at it. To no avail! It still doesn’t want to start unless I floor the gas peddle, and then it heats up very fast. (new thermostat, and valve adjustment) A friend of mine told me he had the same problem with an old Subaru, and the dealership said there was a special trick to the timing. Is this the case for me? Please HELP!
No trick to timing, its either right or its not. Have you done a compression check?
" Doesn’t want to start unless I floor the gas peddle".
Held tight to the floor or just full throttle?
Engine cranks ok but won’t fire up?
No spark or no gas?
