I understood the comic strip but doesn’t seem funny to me.
A play on words, but not really funny. Only to those who up till then did not know what a timing belt was!!!
Yeah, not hilarious, but 2 jokes: 1) it was bad timing for the belt to break, and 2) he couldn’t make his meeting on time
Definitely not hilarious.
Understandable but missing the rim shot at the end… 
My favorite car related comic is Baldo. It’s not in every strip but Baldo works at an auto parts store and THAT hits home so often.
