Can faulty igition coils cause the immobilizer in a 2001 VW Jetta to malfunction?
My wife’s car quit on her on Christmas eve (it would start, but then die after a second). When I took it to the VW dealer, they said the computer in the instrument cluster is going out. But in the meantime, we had received a recall letter the previous week from VW stating that the ignition coils in the car may malfunction. Could this be related the imobilizer problem?
