The first car you owned

Are you sure it wasn’t brought to us by the ministry of silly walks?

Or by the bureau of unoriginal jokes. Usually ya gotta footnote using someone else’s material.

That house in the background looks so familiar, probably a lot like that with a mansard roof. That style became popular becaus whatever country used to tax houses by how far off the ground the roofline was. Ever play with kids from Barrington?

Barrington Illinois is nearby. I do not remember playing with kids from Barrington, though.

Great car, In high school I had a 2 speed Nova, got tired of sharing the 61 olds with my sister.

1970 Mustang. It was Yellow with black stripes on the sides. Paid $350 for it around 1980. It was missing the front bumper, grill and the bottom valence. I had it for a couple of years but never registered it. I had fun putting it back together.

My first car was a 1976 Vette ( that’s Che-vette) that I bought used in 1983 for $999 In Los Angeles.
My first new vehicle I purchased was a 1990 Ford E-150 full conversion van that I paid $16,999 for.
I still have the van but all the conversion pretty much disintegrated after 3 children and 2 mothers and wife riding in it. Mechanically is still very sound. It has the 5.0L engine with the 4 speed automatic with overdrive transmission. I drive it once or twice a month to buy stuff at the local Home Depot / Menards/Lowes.

If this was in 1973, shouldn’t you be wearing go-go boots?

2011 audi a5 back in 2011. Still own it to this day. Not really practical with 1 yo son, but most days i’ll drive wifes murano to work. Currently filling gas on the audi about once a month and once a year oil change.

My first car was a 1959 Morris Minor 1000, modified with an 1100cc engine from an Austin Healy Sprite in place of the original 948cc engine, with a heavy duty 9 spring clutch to replace the original. Like yours, the brakes were shot.

If you had a dollar for every redundancy, you wouldn’t need ATM machines😉

… or PIN numbers or hot water heaters!
