The southern girls are the cutest callers on Car Talk! They have such good manners (yes Sir!) and speak with such endearing accents. I vote for Lydia from Foley, Alabama from show #1247!
I know what you mean since I was raised in the south. I was stationed in Georgia for many years in the Air Force. I used to call back to my credit union there when I was reassigned to the Northeast just to listen to my account information with that lovely southern drawl.
Strangely…I use to call back to my credit union in Maine to listen to my account information in that charming downeast voice after reassignment out west. With that said…I think I just like a woman’s voice regardless of the area she comes from. BTW…my wife approved this comment in her most charming of voices.
