Temperature Gauge and Air Conditioner don't work and the Check Engine Light Comes On

All three incidents occur together. Occasionally, the light turns off, and the temperature gauge and air conditioning go back to normal again. Any ideas on what could be causing this to happen, what the fix is, and how expensive it will be?

Thanks,

Chris

No idea. Start with getting the codes read. They will be in the form like P0130. Most auto parts stores will read the codes for free. Post the code(s) here, and we can give much better advise.

Might be a loose or corroded connection on a line that supplies power or ground to the computer and part of the dash.

It is P0128, thanks for everyone’s help

There’s probably something wrong with your coolant temperature sensor, or the wiring going to it. The PCM may be turning the AC off as a self protection feature since it doesn’t know what your engine temperature really is.
