The old oil filter stuck and I ran with out oil it tapps is it just the lifters,it starts good and has good compression
Can I assume that you now have good oil pressure?
Here’s a test that may yield some data. Next oil change use heavier oil. The 2.0 is tolerant of a pretty broad viscosity range. I’ve known those who use 20 weights …and those who use 40 weights. The engine spec’s a 30 weight.
Go to a 40 weight and see if the tapping decreases. There’s no telling what damage occurred with the low/no oil situation, but you can tell if the noise is pressure related.
If it yields a reduction in noise, then I would suggest a treatment with Auto-Rx (google it). Use it as directed.
