I have a 2000 Chevy Tahoe and it keeps powering off while I am driving it. It only happens for a split second and all the electrical goes crazy in the car. I also have noticed that the voltage goes way down. I do not have to restart it, it only switches off than back on right away. No one can seem to help me. I would appreciate any advice.
Check out the alternator with the engine running and use a tester to check output at different rpms.
The brushes may be worn out.
Also, make sure the wiring is good and connections clean and tight.
Ensure a clean solid ground to engine as well.
