My insurance rate TRIPLED when I moved from upstate NY to NH. Insurance from NYC however is a completely different beast. And Insurance rates in Northern NH is much lower then Southern NH. Southern NH is really just a suburb of Boston.
@Aafke, I’m glad you have been working with your insurer. It looks like you have done a lot of things right.
You can bring your own insurance in and they will subrogate the claim. They will do their own estimate and the. Deal with the other insurance company and get paid at no cost to you.
That is typically how I have dealt with insurance claims. It has no effect on your rates if you are not at fault.
