The car has 168 k miles. 2 years ago the clutch was replace. Recently, the clutch would disengage and allow shifting with only about 2 inches of depression of the clutch pedal. The clutch now is almost on the floor.
A mechanic has told me it will take 3 hours of labor to take out the transmission to inspect the clutch and of course 3 hours to reassemble. This is $500 just to get to the problem.
Anybody have a similar expreience? Is is that expensive to fix?
