Okay so I just went to get my truck inspected and if failed because my fuel straps are rusted apart I got new ones but when I went to take the old strap off the mount to hold the bold on broke now the bolt freely spins and I have no way to get a wrench on it or socket and I’ve tried vice grips and it’s to big to get to the bolt is there any tricks I can do to keep that bolt from spinning I can’t get new tool I don’t have the money rn please help!!! Thank you for anyone that answers
Wedge something like an appropriate sized slotted screw driver between bolt head and bracket. Or grab it with small vise grips if you have them. That will stop the bolt from spinning while you drill the head off of it. If necessary, start with smaller bit in center and work your way up to the diameter of the shaft. When the head pops off. The strap will be free. Push bolt remnant out and get new bolt, nut and lockwashers.
