Remembering the discussions of thefts of catalytic converters a few years ago, I thought I’d mention this item from today’s Washington Post (Crime Report column in the County weekly section):
“… Dec. 1 to 2. An airbag was stolen from a Nissan Altima entered by breaking a window.”
Since this happened in Washington, I would have thought that the thief would have set his goals a little higher and stolen a windbag from congress rather than an airbag from some poor person’s Nissan. This might have prevented a filibuster or two.
Nothing new really, this has been going on for years in NYC there was even a TV show on one of the “kingpins”. I am really surprised it took this long to migrate to DC.
Getting a windbag out of congress is far, far more difficult than getting an airbag out of an Altima.
Things get pretty slow in the newsroom this time of year…
Ok, you actually cracked me up with that one.
And the windbag is more likely to go off on you while you’re trying to steal it than the airbag too…
“…and stolen a windbag from congress rather than an airbag from some poor person’s Nissan.”
The thief can get more money with he fences the air bag that if he ransoms the wind bag. Hey, wouldn’t you pay the guy to keep him?
