Recently, the steering wheel on my 2001 Honda Accord has become really hard to turn at slow speeds, making 3 point turns and parallel parking really tough. Could it just be out of power steering fluid? Could I replace that myself?
Look in your power steering reservoir.
Yes, this could be the problem. If you’re lucky you haven’t damaged anything by running it low.
FYI, if you add fluid Honda requires different power steering fluid than other cars.
Also, look to see if the belt that drives your power steering pump is ok and not too loose. Do you hear any strange noises when you turn the steering wheel?
