Steering problem camry

Two weeks ago the steering wheel pulled to the right. Would not stop pulling until I turned off the ignition. Then steering was okay. Took car to dealer, they found no problems.

Yesterday steering wheel pulled to the left! Would not stop until ignition turned off.

In both cases we had only driven a city block before the problem happened. Car is a 2015 model with 15,000 miles.

Your vehicle has electronic power steering assist.

This means instead of having a power steering pump that provides hydraulic assist power steering, your vehicle has an electric motor that provides steering assist.

This motor operates from the signal it receives from the steering wheel angle sensor.

2015 Toyota Camry STEERING:ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM
NHTSA Campaign #15V144000

Date Announced:
MARCH 13, 2015
Vehicles Affected:
110,085
Summary: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain model year 2015 Camry, Camry Hybrid, Highlander, and Highlander Hybrid, and 2014-2015 Rav4 vehicles. Consequence: An unexpected loss of power steering increases the risk of a crash.

Actions: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the serial number of the EPS ECU or steering column assembly. If the number is within the affected range, the EPS ECU will be replaced, free of charge. The recall began on May 7, 2015. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Go to this URL and enter your Camry’s VIN to see if your car is involved in the recall.

Problem solved! Wife took the car back to Toyota dealer, they found no problem. Manager took it for a test drive and got a real thrill when it turned right on it’s own. Some way they figured out the car battery was low. Replaced battery under warranty, problem solved. I know, it doesn’t make sense but it is working fine now.

I had this same issue out of the blue today on a 2015 camry severe pulling to the right even drove up a curb onto the side walk. Shut the car off at 7-11 got back in the car pulled to the left severly and almost pulled me into oncoming traffic twice. After work all the lights came one in the dash when starting it and it felt like it was going to die. Drove to the nearest toyota dealer shut it off tried to start it and it was dead as a doornail. This is dangerous. I am a experience driver and this car had me a nervous wreck. I was at a stop light and the steering wheel started turn to the right all on its own. I tried to make a right turn into my office parking lot and the car wanted to go left. Toyota needs to fix this issue before people die in thier vehicles again. They havent told me whats wrong but you can bet im showing them this article and you can bet im calling my state senator. This was the most insane drive of my life 31 miles of nerve racking terror wondering what was going on and what the car was going to do next.

Not to start politics thread, but that’s a wasted phone call.
