My office is in a neighborhood with many trees and lots of squirrels. The squirrels are chewing through spark plug wires of our parked cars. It has happened twice to the company car and today it happened to the car of a co-worker. What can we do to prevent this? I used to think squirrels were cute, and now I see them as destructive. The car bill today was $120.00. Any suggestions?
Yes, squirrels are the cute, fuzzy version of rats. I am surprised they are attacking your car while parked during the daytime. Have you considered active enforcement, such as a BB gun? (don’t hit your own car!) If you were to put an open container of mothballs under the engine compartment it might persuade them t chew on somebody else’s car.
