my car recently has started squeaking on a beat. it doesn’t do it often, and it usually doesn’t occur unless im in town, which i think is because of tight turning, braking and accelerating. it often starts squeaking when im accelerating from a stop.
how to describe the noise… it’s not a hum, it’s a pulsing noise, it speeds up as i push on the accelerator.
You may want to have the brakes inspected.
Some front brake pads have what are called wear indictors. These are metal tabs that come in contact with the brake rotors where they cause a squeaking noise when the pads are worn down. This noise can happen under all kinds of driving conditions.
