How can I disconnect the sports mode on the 1991 Honda accord? It will shift into sports mode without changing the sports button on the shift handle.

Sounds like it could just be the computer trying to tell you something.
If you can get the transmission computer out, you could take it to an electronics repair shop, such as Radio Shack, a TV repair shop, Best Buy, etc. They can do the visual inspection and repair. It could work. Also, check the sport switch in the shifter handle.
