Seems big until you consider that if everyone makes a claim each will get $16.11 before lawyers fees are deducted. Everyone won’t submit a claim and if only 1% make a claim they might get $1000 if expenses are about $600 each.
The relatively paltry settlement for Hyundai/Kia owners whose vehicle was stolen isn’t available to those who have to pay more for their car insurance as a result of the security problem for some Hyundai/Kia models.
This woman was dropped by State Farm, and Progressive has refused to insure her vehicle. It’s likely that other insurance companies will also refuse to write a policy, which means that the companies that will insure these vehicles will almost surely charge a sky-high rate.
