I have a 1996 subaru legacy. recently when my car is running there is a clicking noise that is coming from my dashboard, it is very loud and annoying. For quite some time every so often when I press on my brakes my ABS light comes on and my brakes chug its almost a thumping. it doesn’t happen every time and my they still work it just doesn’t sound comforting
Your ABs unit sounds like it is failing. The chugging is the ABS activating. You could have bad sensors in the wheels and the system thinks it is slipping therfore causing the ABS unit to activate.
check your brake fluid lately? check your wheel cylinders for leaks.
dash clikcing noise is prob speedometer head gears. Most newer cars the speedometer is electric so no cable but yours could have a speedometer cable.
