The 1992 thunderbird with the 113,000 miles with the small slip. I had responses that the problem is the clutch chatter or shudder. Would replacing the torque converter and flushing the fluid and a new filter fix the problem ?
when was the trans fluid last changed? this would be the first step.make sure correct tranny fluid is used and dont overfill.
The fluid was changed at 105,000 and a new filter installed the fluid looked good (still looks good) and there were no problems then a few weeks ago I started to get a miss like a engine miss the fluid was down in the cross bars and the car was jerking I topped off fluid and car runs better still misses even when the cruise is on.

Changing the fluid does not fix any problems. However it can prevent problems if you change it often enough.
If that fluid change at 113,000 was the first change, I believe you most likely now know what caused the problem.
