I think the question should be; would anyone else have you! yuk yuk yuk
You have two issues here. First, the Williams firing. Second, what is best for CT. Car Talk has to take care of itself, and that means stay where it is. The second issue – and it’s an important one – is NPR’s egregious firing of Juan Williams (they’ve wanted an excuse to dump him for years now because of his “traitorous” second job on Fox). Sorry, but NPR is “unpunishable.” They use their tax-exempt status to further their role as a liberal propaganda organ, and thus are loaded down with private money and high-level political protection.
It is my belief that too many people have “liberal” confused with the political left. To me, liberal means tolerant, open minded, and valuing personal freedom. The political left is anything but that.
Oooooookayyyyy. Which part is “baloney?”
Just like “conservative” has noting to do with tolerating the fact I want nothing to do with their “faith based”,just about everything. I think “radical” fits "them’ better on this subject. They want a “less intrusive, smaller government” but “don’t touch my Social Security”. I got news for you, the Government runs social security (and the checks are never late, for now).
Really you can’t take the terms literaly. Like a “progressive” from the days of Wodrow Wilson is only vaguely related to the progressive movement of today and the "conseratives’ in the UK do not have the same beliefs as conseratives in the States.
We also lack a complaint from the one who was fired, since we lack a complaint from Jaun should I conclude he views himself as guilty as charged?
It appears the post I was responding too has been removed. It was not me flagging it and there was no reason to flag it in any case
I agree, Cartalk should seek another outlet. NPR has always been slanted to far left. Tax payers shouldn’t pay for that.
I thought some of you might enjoy this.
You might like this one.
Missing the point. A news analyst should never communicate their personal feelings on ANY issue (FOX is another matter). What Juan said is no different than if he said black men make him nervous. His comments immediately disqualified him as a balanced news analyst. He belongs on FOX ? that isn’t news.
Don?t drag Tom and Ray into this. It?s over.
Well said. Totally agree. This whole thing reeks of Fox News blue journalism. It just seems like the whole thing was staged, as if Williams had already made up his mind to leave, but went around it in a way to benefit his new employer. In the end, Williams is just another pawn of the Fox News machine, an O’Reilly mini-me.
I think she is scary
I think she is kind of attractive. I like her smile.
