I have a 1994 Oldsmobile cutlass supreme with the PASS-KEY 11 security system.The vehicle starts and runs fine with the security light being on constantly. I would like to know if there are any major problems that may occur other than the security system not being operative,also is there any way to disconnect the light or do away with the system entirely.
It is possible to disable the PassKey II system, which superseded VATS, but at your own risk. Do so and some day the car may refuse to start. See technical details over here: www.passlockbypass.com.
