I have a 2002 Saturn Vue, recently while on the highway it won’t shift past 2nd gear. Also the service engine light comes on. In drives fine in non-highway driving. This is a 6 cylinder and it is an automatic trans. Any ideas on what is going on?
The best idea of what is going is held by that service engine light. Take it somewhere to have the codes read. Many large chain auto parts stores will do this for free. Then post the codes (actual codes like P0123, not what anyone says about them).
Either way it isn’t a good sign and you’ll likely want a good, local (non-corporate chain) shop to evaluate it and pull the trans codes (different equipment - the ap stores can’t help you there).
