I have a 2002 Saturn SC1 standard trans. The shifter has become stiff and very difficult to move especially in the lateral ( 2nd to 3rd) direction. Goes into gear with no problem. Any one have info on this problem? Thanks.
It sounds like the shifter is binding.
Safely get under the vehicle where the shifter is located and see if a penetrating lubricant can be sprayed on the shifter mechanism to see if that helps.
