HELLO, I HAVE A 2008 FORD E250 CARGO VAN WITH THE 4.6 V8, 92K BOUGHT BRAND NEW IN MARCH OF 2008. I USE MY VEHICLE FOR WORK, 1000 LBS OF CARGO AT TIMES… ABOUT 130 MILES DAILY (650-700WKLY) 60% HIGHWAY MILES, THE REST LOCAL CITY MILES. THERE ARE NEW BRAKES AND ROTORS ALL AROUND WITHIN THE LAST 6 MONTHS. HAD UPPER AND LOWER BALL JOINTS DONE WITHIN THE PAST SEVERAL MONTHS. WITHIN THE PAST WEEK WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES FROM 40MPH…SLOWING TO 30MPH JUST UNDER 40 MPH…I CAN HEAR A RUBBING NOISE, IT SOUNDS LIKE IT IS COMING FROM THE FRONT, BUT I COULD BE WRONG…PLEASE HELP! THANK YOU.
Have the brakes checked, a sticking caliper can wear out a brake pad quickly.
Just FYI, upper case is the same thing as SHOUTING!!! in the text world; use lower case if you don’t type well.
Anyway, even though you just had a brake job recently this sounds like a stuck front brake caliper. You said the rotors were replaced with the pads but no mention of the calipers. I think your FIRST (shouting!!) problem was a stuck caliper. Replace both up front, and the pads again. The rotors should be fine.
