RPM fluctuations. Need to fix?

My 2012 VW CC this morning (2.0T) began to do this thing where the RPM jumps slightly when slowing down. By slightly I mean a resting rate of just under 1000 and jumps to about 2000 for a moment when coming to a stop. The RPM rests normally otherwise. I also noticed that the engine runs louder than usual. The car has 155,000 miles on it.
Does anyone know what this could be? I’m looking to sell the car in the next 2-3 months and would rather not drop money to fix the car more than is needed. I just dropped 2k on new suspension parts. Whatever it is, can I safely drive the car for that amount of time?

Me thinks copy paste Donna is back

Do you think copy past donna might be some sort of researcher trying to study the suppression of women in the automotive repair industry? So now “she” is back as Bryan Fox, an obvious male, trying to determine if they will be spam-banned as well? (By our highly capable female admin, I might add)

Just food for thought…
