I have a 2006 Ford Expedition 2w Drive and have rotational noise. It hasn’t gotten louder over time. I cleaned all of the stones from the tires. I pulled the front tires and wheels to repack the bearings and it looks like a sealed unit rotor and bearing. The vehicle has 37000 miles so it’s to late for warranty to cover the fix.
What kind of noise?
Tester
The wheel bearings on my 2000 Blazer went bad right after I put 4 new tires on it. I assumed the humming was tire noise. My mechanic told me the front wheel bearings were bad at the next oil change. The bearings were sealed, so the entire assembly had to be replaced (~$800 for the pair). If the volume/pitch of the sound changes when the steering wheel is turned off-center (i.e. changing lanes), that’s an indication of bad bearings.
With only 37k, if you ask nicely you might be able to get a “good will” repair from the dealer.
Good luck,
