Reset engine light

HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO DRIVE THE CAR NOW THAT EMISSION PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN SOLVED AND ENGINE LIGHT IS NO LONGER ON-I WAS TOLD I HAD TO DRIVE THE CAR 150 MILES BEFORE GOING TO GET REINSPECTED-IS THAT TRUE???THANX-I’M IN MASSACHUSETTS

Yes. Even if the trouble code is cleared, the ODB-II system requires that certain driving aspects be met before the ODB-II system will be ‘emissions-ready’. The ODB-II system does it’s own emissions checking, and the emissions station basically reads the ODB-II system to confirm compliance. I’m not sure if the 150 miles is accurate, but try driving a mix of city and highway to cover all the driving aspects required by the ODB-II system.

Some will require X number of cycles (start run stop park it for a while)

I know I am a pest about it, but ALL CAPS are difficult to read. Using standard case and paragraph spacing makes messages much easier to read. Making them easier to read means more people will read it and you are more likely to get a good answer.
