I have a 2000 Subaru Outback. Which I bought new. In the past I had to buy 3 sets of tires
because 1 of the set developed cord problems.
I’m now facing the same problem again. Is there anyway around buying another whole set of tires?
Take a look at tirerack.com & give those folks a call.
They can shave down a new tire to match the other 3.
You need all four tyres to closely match the same diameter. This can be accomplished by shaving the new tyre to match the existing tyres. Most tyre shops should know about this.
It is a problem with the AWD. AWD has advantages and disadvantages. Failure to do this right can become very costly.
