Whats the best way to remove rust from a sub frame on a Subaru Impreze? This will be a DIY job.
Sand blaster is the best way to get the rust off. They require a compressor and are messy.
As an alternate solution, buy a POR-15 rust treating “kit” which includes their metal prep solution. Follow the directions which are roughly the following;
Degrease the area, wire brush off the loose rust, treat with metal prep and let sit for 24 hours (I think) and then paint the area with POR-15 rust converter-sealer. Use rubber gloves, drop cloths and old clothes because if this stuff gets on you, it must wear off and will ruin any piece of clothing.
