I have a 98 Pathfinder, this auto type’s rearview mirror isn’t attached to the windshield. It came off when I hit it and although I believe I have all the parts I can’t for the life of me figure out how they attach. Any ideas?
Many are bonded on. You can buy mirror adhesive for this purpose at the parts store.
Thanks but it’s not an adhesive attached mirror, it’s connected up top where the digital display is.
Clean windshield and reattach the small mounting plate with the adhesive. I like Permatex brand since it seems to hold well. You may need to take the mounting plate off the mirror by loosening a set screw or if spring loaded, with a twist of a screwdrive. Make sure you can see or know how the mounting plate is actually attached, to avoid damage to the mirror. Follow instructions for mounting the plate on the windshield and allow the proper time to cure.
Again, thank you but it’s not an adhesive attached mirror, it’s connected up top where the digital display is.
Try stopping by the dealer’s sevice department and asking for an “exploded view” assembly drawing of the mirror installation. I’ve had them print drawings of this type for me for free with no problem.
Never heard of it but will do, thanks again samemtnbike.
