I have a 1998 Dodge Ram 4x4. After having a rear brake line repaired, the abs and brake warning lights will not go out. There are no fault codes showing. What could the problem be? Both rear brakes were bled, and there is a good strong pedal.
Did you check your brake fluid reservoir after the brakes were bled to make sure you had a proper level of fluid?
Do you have 4 wheel ABS or rear wheel only ABS (RWAL)? The RAWL uses a single sensor mounted on the top of the rear axle pumpkin. Check the wiring connectors at the sensor and the frame rail, they may be loose or dirty.
I had the same problem with a 95 Dodge Dakota with RAWL. The sensor was replaced under warranty. The lights reappeared a few months later. I replaced the wiring harness (~$30) from the sensor to the frame rail and had no more problems after that.

Thanks for the replies!
The truck is rear ABS only, fyi.
The fluid resevoir is full, and we checked the plug yesterday, it appears to be fine.
One thing I think may be relevant, when the brakes were bled, we started from the left rear, then did the right rear. Today I learned that it’s generally best to start at the wheel farthest from the master cylinder, which would be the RIGHT rear.
Would this make any difference?
Thanks!
Here’s the rear brake bleeding procedure for your truck.
