I own a 1999 Subaru Legacy Outback wagon with 42,000miles. I was recently denied a State Inspection sticker from a Subaru dealer mechanic because he noticed my rear baffle plate had a small leak which was considered a fire hazard. They estimated the repair to cost $670. and said Subaru was now making the baffle plate different so that it prevented leaks. Do I get it repaired? My oil isn’t low and I ended up going to a small local garage for a sticker with no problem.
