I currently own a 2005 Pontiac Vibe AWD with 43,000 miles. Over the last 2 months, I’ve had to replace a front wheel hub, a rear wheel hub, and seals on the rear axle for a total of $1400. Am I just unlucky or have other Vibe/Toyota Matrix owners needed to make similar repairs? I would have thought that the hubs would not need replacement until >60,000 miles and that axle seals would have lasted longer. Thanks in advance for any suggestions or comments you may have.
Sounds like a crappy warranty from Pontiac if not all covered. The Toyota powertrain warranty would cover all these items as its 5yr/60,000 miles.
Seems a bit odd for so much to fail, however Toyota is inexperienced in AWD design compared to Subaru and Audi. Then again it could be bad luck…
