my radio stops working after i shift into gear or shortly after. it then hums. i drive a 1989 350 chev. truck rv. the radio is new, because the factory one did the same. any suggestions

It sounds like there is a intermittent power connection to the radio. Get a test light probe to check out the power circuit to the radio.
