I was driving down the road in my 98 M-class and suddenly my radio quit. I was able to start it up again, but now it won’t go off when I turn off the ignition. Also, my cigarette lighter (for my phone) quit. I looked at fuses, but couldn’t find one that was broken. Any ideas? Thanx.
This is very unclear. Are you saying that you can shut off the car, remove the key, and the radio still plays?
Very strange, it could be a problem with the ignition switch (just a guess). You will really need a wiring diagram and a lot of patience to chase this down if you want to DIY.
Correct. The radio will keep playing until I manually turn it off. I can deal with this, but not having the cigarette lighter is a drag for my cell phone recharging.
