If you can’t locate the low pressure fitting for your AC system, reason tells me this is something you shouldn’t even attempt.

Agreed, if you can’t find the low pressure port.
If the A/C is not engaging at all maybe it’s an electrical problem such as a fuse or relay.
If the system legitimately needs refrigerant then ask yourself where it went.
