In an earlier discussion the cooling fan was the topic. There may not have been problems with the heads cracking, warpage,or blown head gaskets if they had designed the cooling fan circuit to run after vehicle shutdown.
You have never walked by a vehicle that was parked and heard the fans still run for a few minutes?

My 1976 Fiat did run the fan after shutdown…and still blew the head gasket at 130K miles.
No other cars in my family (GMs, Hondas, Hyundais) have run the fan after shutdown.
My Saab’s (GM) fan runs on, So does my water cooled motorcycle (Kawasaki). So did a Ford (Merkur - Euro Ford Sierra) I had.
