My previous experience with headlights was when I had to change them, the dealer said each bulb was $150 and labor is hundreds, so when you replace one, replace both of them, because they have to take off the bumper to do that, and the job totaled $700 or $800. Prius chat to the rescue: electrical engineers explained the original engineering was somewhat faulty, and the specād bulbs couldnāt handle the output of the ECU (or something) but the new Chinese knock-offs online ($11) could. You donāt have to take the bumper off unless your hands are the size of baseball mitts, and you can reach in there and change them yourself. Took 15 minutes to watch videos, 5 minutes to replace them. Maybe not your exact problem, but Iāve had similar online DIY repair situations with my cars, saving time and money.
