Can anyone venture a guess on how much (labor/parts) it will cost to replace a power steering rack and pump on a 04 Toyota Sienna. The car has 108,000 miles on it and all of sudden things are falling apart. I brought it in for an oil change and new tires. Now this is an issue and something that smells like burning rubber is coming from the heater. Thank you if you have advice.
Before replacing those components try adding this to the power steering system http://www.lucasoil.com/products/display_products.sd?iid=28&catid=9&loc=show and follow the directions on the bottle.
The son had a rack and pinion leak on his vehicle and he added this to the power steering system and it stopped the leak. And that was a year ago. Besides, if it doesn’t work you’re only out a few bucks.
