2000 Chevy Malibu,3.1L automatic. I have removed my control arm and have replaced the control arm bushing. I am trying to replace the control arm but I can not get it into place. Is there a secret? The verticle bushing seems to get jammed up before I can align the horizontal bushing. Do I need to use a cheeter to compress the rubber in the bushing to get it to move? It came out so easy… Please help.

I have used a long bolt, large washers, and a nut, a piece of pipe or large socket, to push the bushing into place into the control arm. The bushing may need further compression, to allow installation of the control arm to the bracket.
