Persistence got him a replacement car!

My first was my 59 Pontiac with power steering. My folks 57 Ford had it, but the 58 and 61 Chev didn’t. Then the 61 Merc did, but the 66 and 68 Dodge didn’t. I think everything after that did except my 61 Corvair. With regular manual steering though it was quite a bit easier than one with power that went out. When I lost my belt on my Riviera, it was everything I could do to wrestle the thing to the off ramp and turn it around again to the shop. Still never lost control going 60+.
