My '01 P.T has a knock coming from the front end. Happens when am rolling along on uneven roads that make the body shift. The dealer put in a sway bar & the noise was gone for 400 miles & then started again. They say they will listen & try something else but have no idea what it is.Braking makes no difference . It sounds really bad. Like something flopping & getting tapped by a hammer.

It sounds like you might have a real loose balljoint that’s in dire need of replacement. I’d recommend you take it someplace else to have it looked at because, if it is a balljoint, that’s a serious safety hazard should it come all undone while you’re going down the road.
